Bad Clear Coat Accord - 2003 Honda Accord Ex Coupe

I have a 2003 Honda Accord V6, original owner. Several years ago I started noticing that the paint was starting to oxidize on my Accord. Long story short, I recently took it to an auto body shop to get an estimate on having it painted and found out that what I thought was oxidation is actually a defective clear coat from the manufacturer. I'm the original owner and since I had this vehicle it has not been in any accidents and has been well maintained. Has anyone else had this problem?
