Hired them to set my timing, after 800. And 3 weeks they said to come get it-IN PIECES!

My nephew had a Camaro that ran a little rough, so he took it to this place to have the timing set. They said they do all kinds of mechanical repairs-not just tire work.

After a week, they said they found more wrong with it and asked for 400. His mom paid it. After another week they said they found oil mixed in with the antifreeze, and asked for 400. More to replace the head gaskets. They paid this too.

Another week goes by, and they call him saying to come pick it up. They now claimed that they didn't notice before that there was oil in the coolant, and they could not fix something that major.

The intake manifold was off, as well as many other parts. It was in a lot of pieces. They said we could take it home now, even though it was not even remotely driveable.

My nephew chewed them out big time, and then their response was "Well, you can get a lawyer if you want."! When he said that was a possibility, they offered to tow it back to his place for 'free'.

We never got that car running again after those so-called mechanics tore it up, so it ended being sold to a junkyard for 100. It was driven in there with a slightly fluctuating idle, and it was towed out of there in pieces and never ran again.

The nerve of them and their attitude was even more infuriating than the $800. We were screwed out of (not to mention the former value of the car). Worst of all, we don't think it ever had an oil or coolant leak to begin with.
