Rip-off scam con artists

I bought my car January 10th and it worked perfectly. On the 13th, I reported to Coast Motors that the transmission was going out. They said all they could do was to issue me a 3 year warranty for the cost of $1000.
They said they would cover half the cost and all I would need to do is come up with $500. Since I had already given them $3500 down, I had NO money. They told me to come up with whatever I had.

I called and let them know I could afford $300. They said to bring it on. I brought the check to them and after it was handed over, they said "Well, since this is only $300, we can only give you a one year warranty. And we need to wait 2 weeks until the warranty goes through." (Sure BUDDY! They just wanted to make sure the warranty company didn't know they were placing a warranty on an already damaged vehicle!)

Also, I was to tell the warranty company that I took the car directly to the repair shop. That Coast had nothing to do with it. They told me NOT TO TELL ANYONE. Well, I hope EVERYONE knows. Finally, after several phone calls to Coast, I was able to bring them my car on February 9th! Keep in mind that the car was getting worse everyday. So then they take my car to San Luis Obispo (40 minutes away) because they supposedly have no one in Santa Maria to fix the transmission (including the actual VW dealership that sells my car [Jetta]).

So today is the 12th of March and I still haven't gotten my car back. During the past 5 weeks, I was told that the warranty company would only pay $1500 of the estimated $2200 that it would cost to have the car fixed. I was to pay $700. I told Coast that I was not paying a SINGLE PENNY and they covered $600. I am still to pay $100. I have called the repair shop (Monterey Imports of San Luis Obispo, California) several times and they seem to be lagging. I was promised my car for sure on the 11th of March. Now, today, they say it may be on Friday.

I told Coast off yesterday and said I want my money back. There has been too much frustration and lies. I've had to make my boyfriend drive me to work (30 miles to and from) everyday and he has to wait in the parking lot of work for 2 hours until he starts. COAST MOTORS has made the past 5 weeks a living Hell because they sold me a crap ass of a car. I am debating about Small Claims Court but have no more money left for legal action. All my bills are to pay for a car that I haven't been able to drive. If someone has dealt with this company or has suggestions for my situation, please email me.
