Ron Tonkin Auto Acceptance
Gresham Honda - Joss Greene Charged me 30% interest on a car that I have had to put $3000 into and can't get out of

I had a "friend" named Joss Greene that worked as the internet fleet manager at Ron Tonkin Gresham Honda. I had purchased 2 cars from Joss, and my family had purchased a dozen cars from Ron Tonkin over the last 20 years. So, when i was in desperate need of a car after my credit plummeted, I figured Joss would be able to help me out. This was the first used car I had purchased so I added on a "warranty" too.

I went to Gresham Honda and was shown a 1997 Honda Accord with 130,000 miles on it. Took it for a test drive and although it drove well, I could feel something wrong with the tires. It felt like the car was sliding. I mentioned this to Joss and he assured me the tires were fine. Assuming my "friend" had my best interest in mind, I believed him. He assured me again the next morning when i went to pick up my new car.

I knew going into the dealership that I was going to be charged a ridiculous interest rate, but was told by Joss that I could easily get out of the car in a year, after I had reestablished my credit by making the payments on time. Again, thought my "friend" was taking care of me.

What happens next is absolutely amazing! Within a week of owning my new 10 year old vehicle, my car would shake violently when i drove it over 35 miles an hour. I took the car back into Gresham Honda and was told that I needed new tires. They sold me a car with tires that needed to be replaced! Thats just the beginning! Next, the seatbelts in the backseat stopped working - had to replace them. Then, the drivers window fell into the door (in the middle of the rainy season in Oregon) - had to replace the glass & motor. Next were the brakes (which they said were brand new when i bought the car), and then the radiator. All of those fixes were not covered under the "warranty" that I purchased. Now my car has leaked all kinds of fluids all over my driveway, is shaking violently again and hesitates while I'm driving it!

So, I drove from Vancouver to a dealership in Milwaukie to see if i could get a different car. On the way there, I had to stop 3 times because my car was shaking so badly that I thought it was going to break in half! AND I had my 2 babies in the car! When I arrived at the dealership in Milwaukie, I filled out paperwork to start the application process. The man I was dealing with then proceeded to check my credit report and came back with it and asked me why my auto loan was 2 months past due. WHAT??? So, the bank wouldn't approve me b/c Auto Acceptance effed up their paperwork. So, i am stuck with a car that barely runs, is unsafe to transport my children in and that I owe 3 times more than its worth.

I proceeded to call Auto Acceptance and rip them a new one. They told me that there was no way I could get out of my car unless I surrendered it because I am so upside down in it. I reminded them that I was told that I would be able to get out of it in a year and they told me that my "friend" Joss lied to me as far as that goes. They also reminded me that they were the finance company and not the sales team. They did, however, offer to have my car fixed at one of their parts centers - and get this - they will add the cost of the repairs to the end of my loan! So they will get 30% interest on the service that they did!

Basically, unless you want to get bent over and raped in the ass, don't go to Ron Tonkin and especially don't have ANYTHING to do with Auto Acceptance. And, if you are "friends" with a car salesman, realize that all they will ever be is a car salesman and nothing more - all they know how to do is swindle and lie - anything to get thier money!
