My Cadillac CTS would not start. Twice we had to jump it off. We replaced the battery thinking that was the culprit. It was not. We then attempted to have the start replaced. That was not the problem either. I had my car towed to Sam Taylor. This was Christmas Eve. The Service personal called and told me it was not electrical. (pcm) They told me that the engine mechanic would not be in until friday. They called me on friday and told me I had 2 choices I could buy a new motor or have it rebuilt. I knew that I had not abused my car nor done anything that would cause the motor to blow up. There wasn't any tell tell signs that the motor was blown. I called them back on monday and told them that I didn't agree and I would come and get my car. They asked if I wanted them to put my car back together, and if i did that was an additional charge. They were going to charge me $1000.00. My husband got irate and told them there was no way. The person called back and said they would put my motor back together and only charge me 486.00.
I borrowed a car hauler and took my car to Solomon Chevrolet. Solomon took one day and fixed my car. There was a bulletin posted in June that certain fuels were causing the problem and what to do if it occured. Toptiergas.com will give you the info. They also informed me that the mechanics at Sam Taylor did not take my motor apart all they did was take the valve covers off and replace the gasket. If Sam Taylor mechanics had taken my motor apart it would take 25 hours. Sam Taylor also took my back seat out and did not put it back correctly and the carpet was sticking out. When I called Sam Taylor to inform them of the problem they had me wait on the line while they looked it up. I wonder how many people had their motors replaced because of this. Cadillac is losing customers because of dealers like this.
