How can they charge so much for charge

Carhop is charging up to five times the amount for a car. The car is a 98 plymouth with well over a 100,000 miles and they are charging me six thousand dollars for something that is not worth two thousand.
It has been in the shop twice the first time it was covered by warranty, the second time I had to spend 500 dollars. Now it needs more work not covered by warranty and it will cost 950 dollars this car is really not worth and I haven't had it a year yet.
How can they get away with charging some much money for junk? Theres got
to a law against overcharging.
