Cars & Transport

I saw a car for sale on ebay and the car was listed in great condition with good mileage. They stated on Ebay that the car was safe to drive as far as you needed to drive it. We contacted the seller and agreed to see the car. Upon seeing the car it seemed in good condition. Engine was clean car was clean and everything seemed solid. Test drove the car breaks felt solid not movement on wheel. Clutch felt good and the seller told me over and over again he does repairs on car and ensured me the car was in good condition. I even asked if we had problems what would he do and he told me to bring it back. Both my wife an I heard him. I bought this car mainly as a back up fuel efficient car and he assured me it was safe and solid. We buy the car and it turns out through his dealership. Everything goes fine I drive the car 1.5 hours home and the next day my wife drives the car and comes home complaining that she heard grinding whenever she stopped, I assumed the brakes needed to be done... No big deal this is fine, I even asked the dealer and he said he didn't know about the brakes. I take the car to the shop I have used for years and they call me within 2 hours and tell me the 40 things wrong with the car and that it is unsafe to have on the road.including Lug Bolts are snapped on rear right wheel, I was riding on one lug, nuts missing holding the front axle causing the wheel to rub against caliper. And Many more major issues including a straight pipe installed and catalytic converter removed. We call the dealer the next day and he tells us he will do what he can to make it right, we tell him we want to return the car and he said OK then we canceled our check to him and told him we would call him to return the car as soon as I got the basics repaired enough so that it would be safer to drive and brought the car home. We call him for 5 days then I get a threaten letter at home saying that he never agreed to have the car returned and that we had to bring the car to him. He then tells the DMV and the car had a catalytic converter and that we must of removed it. This has now gone on for over a month with me offering him to just replace the catalytic converter or just take the car back and I would even pay half of the car cost to and give him the car back. He refuses saying that the catalytic converter was in there. The I go onto his EBay account and see all the straight pipes and catalytic converts he buys including the one in the car that I purchased. Beware this company, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried everything, now the police and the state have to be involved because of the Catalytic converter being removed and replaced by an illegal straight pipe. Yes this is a used car I understand but the advertising stated one mileage when it turned out to be another since this is not the original engine, the car was "safe enough to put my kids in" which I was told it was far from that. Then he pulls back what he said in multiple cases and lies. This is sad that we have to clog up the DMV, the state, and the state in something that could of been fixed in minutes. Beware this seller.
