Used Car Sales And Sales Manager Bait and switch - lie - unprofessional

We contacted a sales person at Hiley Mazda in Arlington about buying a used car. We talked about a specific model, mileage, price range, and financing. We were very specific and repeatedly said we did not want to visit the dealership if they did not have what we were looking for, matching all the criteria. We gave them our information to run our credit and they called us back to say we were approved, for the amount we needed, for the specific model, mileage, price range, and payments we wanted. He also said they had two examples of the model for us to look at, and that we were approved for either one. We drove out to the dealer and was greeted by the man we spoke to on the phone. He immediately wanted to show us a different car. When we questioned him he said we didn't qualify for the amount needed for the only example of the model he had in inventory. We tried to leave but the sales manager stopped us. When we explained the misinformation that was given us over the phone, he denied that his sales staff would do such a thing, but also promised to have a talk with him. He then tried to get us to look at other vehicles that we had already said we didn't want to look at. As we were starting our car and leaving, this sales manager got into his Nissan, immediately revved his engine, blasted music, and tried to leave a scratch as he left. Definitely no one acting professional was available at Hiley Mazda while we were there.

At first I was going to write this using names, but then I thought it was not only a condoned practice, the salesperson might have actually been trained to bait and switch. I hope the sales guy will get the opportunity to work at a dealer that requires integrity. The final responsibility for professionalism lies with Hiley.
