Cars & Transport

I bought what I thought was a "quality" used car as they described it to me, but was I ever fooled. They refused to let me take the car to my mechanic, saying that that is not their policy as they have had customers in the past remove or alter parts and stressed how they were this 100 years in the car business dealer and the car had what they called a "PERFECT" CARFAX. I was stupid enough to believe them. After inspection the mechanic showed me the car had been in an accident and was obviously repaired at a bodyshop that does not report or paid outside of insurance so there was no record. The mechanic stated there was also a check engine light that was turned off, apparently anyone can buy theese little computers at most parts stores that "clear" the codes so it appears the car is in great condition. The day after I bought it the light went on and my mechanic explained the codes are cleared only temporarily!!! This should be illegal!!! Their response?"What do you expect for a 6,000 dollar car? If you want a perfect one, you should buy a new one" Great response, then no return phone calls and they must have caller ID as they never answer my phone calls, but when I drive by I can see people inside!!! Stay away from these family operators, don't be fooled i should have gone to a big dealer associated with a good manufacturer who would stand behind me if i have a problem!!!
