The 8 minute $50,000 Motorhome from Georgia Speedway RV

This is a partial reading of the online ad listing the unit for sale: 2000 TIFFIN ALLEGRO 35 BUS, THIS COACH IS ROAD READY, STRONG CUMMINS DIESEL ENGINE, PLENTY LIFE LEFT
Read below to find out how this is the most UNTRUE AD you will ever read!

8 minutes after signing the bill of sale and driving off the Speedway RV Sales lot the Motorhome produced a LOUD buzzing and the heat gauge showed it was OVERHEATING! We could not drive over 50 MPH and we were 1050 miles from home.

(Before we go any further I know what you are thinking... Yes we did test drive the unit and we did a walk-thru with 2 of the mechanics for over an hour before we signed any papers. The dealership/mechanics insured us that the unit had a very strong motor)

We drove the Coach to an independent Freightliner Dealership who said we needed to replace the radiator, turbo, coolant lines, and the motor due to the amount of debris they found inside the engine. While the Motorhome was at the Freightliner Dealership we decided to stay our first night in it, but when we returned from getting food the generator had stopped working and our family pets were inside for several hours with no open windows on a very hot day. The circuit panel that controlled the generator had completely stopped working and would need to be replaced. Upon viewing results of the mechanic diagnostic it showed the Motorhome had been overheated over 87 times. Since the Speedway RV Dealership wouldn't be willing to buy a new Cummings motor we agreed to give the unit back to the dealership and get a replacement unit. Unfortunately we had to agree to a replacement unit, since the GA RV Finance owner said he couldn't give us our money back; he already spent all $47,000 of it. The Speedway dealership replaced some of the items to get the unit running again and then relisted the unit for $58,000 ($10,000 more than I paid for it).

We later find that GA RV Finance Dealership mechanics knew that the Motorhome wasn't cooling efficiently since they had to flush the radiator fluid several times without much success. The Freightliner mechanic informed us that the flushing of the radiator by the Speedway mechanics was not even close to sufficient to clean that amount of build-up. The Speedway RV Owner later admitted that his facility lacked the proper tools to effectively flush the radiator the way it should be done.

Months later we have already spent $1,600 in RV loan payments and much more on hotel cost. GA RV Finance and Speedway RV won't offer us any replacements, as promised, and they say they will only give us back the unit with the bad motor. We just want them to give the $47,000 loan money back to the bank so we can get on with our lives and find a home.

We think everyone should read our story; send this to anyone that may be looking to purchase an RV so they know to avoid this dealership at all cost.

What do you think? Email GARVFin@aol.com and tell him you think the money should go back to the bank.
