Dana Motors rip-off Do they REALLY know or just guess at an ansewer that will appease me rip-off waste of time Billings

Hello&We purchased our VW Beatle 5 speed Turbo in 2000. We obtained It from Whitefish, Mt. (never seen the salesman but he was VERY nice over the phone) It was Trailered to Helena, Mt. To Power Chev. And we paid them. It is a cute lil thing and fun to drive even for an old lady like me (62) It was to be MY car... After contacting several auto places, I got just what "I" wanted.

My problem occured right away&I would go out to my car and It wouldent start... Hubby would jump-start it and this would last about a week... Then over and over again... Plus it made a humming sound comming from under the hood... I had my service checks reguarly... Each time told them the same story and got different ansewers. The tehc would say "O thats common to hear this, because of the Turbo" or "You will problyhave to leave a battery charger on trickle all the time, be cause it has so many things that drain the battery if you dont use the car often enought"

How often is that? A week? A month? Id say to myself... I must really LOOK stupid. The second to last time I took the car in the tech. Tested the battery and all the "Draws" on it and said "Nope - Its not the battery". (I could have told him that!!!) Well alot of customers dident shut their trunks tight and this will cause a drain on the battery... DAAAA no kidding (I say to myself) The last time I took it to Dana Motors was just past my 2 year warrantee and I wanted to make sure to have the brake fluid changed as my consummer book recommended!

Guess what??? The battery was LOW and I was advised I needed a new one (which I did not buy) Pluss I paid over a hundred dollars for the brake fluid and the maintence service work... I live 200 miles from my door to Billings. Mt. This is a real rural town... I was steamming mad... I then composed a letter to the consumer manufactory (Address in my auto cons. Book) They phoned me about a month later and said "We checked with Dana Motors and they said you need a new battery" No they werent going to pay for it $79 as it was not under warranty...

In every service copy I have, — I have complained about the dead battery. Now wouldent anyone that had an eye in their ass - know I need more than just a new battery!!! I love my car but I cant depend on it!!! Has anyone had the same problem with their VW.??? I will never get another because of this. We paid premium price and look what I have. Its depessing and a real RIP-OFF!!!
