BOGUS "LX" - The Phantom Honda Accord

On August 6th, my eye was attracted to a vehicle posted for sale on CraigsList in Tulsa, Oklahoma USA. The price should have been a tip off but I
replied that I would like to see the car. I received an e-mail response advising me that the seller of the car now lived in Canada having formally been a Michigan resident. I was advised that the transaction would be handled by eBay Motors which gave me a feeling of being protected. I did; however, order a Car Fax report on the vehicle's history and received a clean bill of health.

Without checking with eBay Motors directly I made the decision to forward the $3,591.00 to the supposed eBay agent named David Robertson. After several days passed and there was no notice of the car being shipped as promised, I replied to the e-mail address requesting a status report. The e-mail was returned as not being deliverable. Subsequently eBay reported to me that indeed this was a scam and that indeed "a fool and his money are soon parted."

I have since reported this incident to the FBI only to be advised that in all probability that is about all that I would ever hear of it.

For God's sake people, if you want to buy something be sure that you can reach out and grab the collar of the seller. Unseen sellers are a sure way to loose your money.
