Typical car dealership, promise one price over the phone get there and the car is more expensive and they state "I don't remember promising that"

We knew we were going to buy a new Passat wagon, we were just deciding where. I had put out many calls to Puget Sound Area VW dealers with the price I was willing to pay. Karine Armstrong from University Volkswagen, was the first to call back with her word that the car would be $28,000 out the door. This dealership was over a hour drive one way so through the course of our conversation she had to convince me that this was in fact the truth. We decided to take a chance an go there with our two small children to buy the car.

The first thing I said to her is "the car is still $28,000. Yes was her response, get all the way to finance department and clear in black and white the car was $28,700. What happened to her word, what happened to the promise that they were not that kind of business to deceive customers. Never buy a car from University of Volkswagen, you will get riped off.
