Cars & Transport

My insurance company won't pay for my car damages because they say I wasn't added on to my moms policy. They have it as her car and her insurance. But actuality I was under the impression that because its my car (and she being the co-signer I could be added to her policy) So I handed over a copy of my drivers license, my proof of registration and paid the extra money myself. A few days after this transaction I get an updated Insurance policy coverage letter confirming me being added to her policy with our car (me the primary owner).

So when I got in a car accident and the at fault driver had no insurance I looked to the insurance to pay for the collision damages. They then said my name was no where in their system, so I had no right driving the car, so they wouldn't pay. That one paper I got confirming that I was added to the policy is lost (I probably threw it away IDK) and I'm left with over $6,000 worth of car damages.

It's upsetting because they made a mistake and now I'm screwed. I later find out after doing some investigation from my finance company that their is no way she could get insurance just under her name with me being the primary owner. They said there records showed the Insurance under my name. So who's lieing here
