Salesman lied

I will never buy a car from Carmax again. Carmax gives you a 30 day warranty and I was told by the salesman that I had the option of purchasing an extended warranty in that time period. It is a lie. When I called him back, he not only informed me that I could not buy an extended warranty, he denied saying it.

Upon further investigation, the truth is he trained in Kansas City and apparently you used to be able to do this in Missouri. It is no longer an option. He actually works in the Omaha, Nebraska store and did not check his facts. He denies ever telling me this to cover his own hide and now I am left without a warranty.

I spoke with a woman in the store that is supposed to be some kind of manager. She was rude and no help at all.
Also, we were told that if we bought the car at that Carmax and decided to return it in the 5 day time period we could return it in Kansas City. Also a lie. We checked with the Kansas City store and that is not the policy.

You would be better off buying a car from a shady car salesman. At least you would know you might be getting duped. My sister tried to warn me not to buy from Carmax. I should have listened. I have had the vehicle 3 months and now I am stuck with a van that has a check engine light that comes on at random and goes back off at random. I will be making several long distance trips in the vehicle and have no idea how reliable it is.
Carmax is a very dishonest company. Shame on them for advertising that they are better than the rest.
