Nissan will not admit that they have a problem with crankshaft positioning sensors on 2002 thru 2006 nissans Nashville tennessee

Cars & Transport

The crankshaft positioning sensor went out on my 2005 Nissan Altima. I had AutoZone run a code check on the vehicle to verify this. Purchased a new sensor and went home to install. I could not find where to install it so consulted the internet. Upon doing so I found many blogs on the net by people who had the same problem as i and nissan would not fix. I also realized that i had a open recall for the ECM-Electronic Control Module (brain) on my vehicle and to my knowledge never received recall letter from nissan. The dealership where I called verified the recall and said that possibly had I brought my vehicle in sooner and had ECM reprogrammed my sensor may not have gone out. Nissan paid for recal work but not the money to replace sensor. Luckily for me my wife was at work when the sensor went out. There are many stories on the net of people pulling into intersections or driving down the interstate when there sensors quit. My dealership told me that they had replaced many of the sensors and that nissan never pays because that would be admitting that they have a problem. HELP! Before someone gets killed because of these faulty sensors!!!
