Transmission repair is going to be a fight

After reading a previous post by toniw61, I am currently about to have a problem with Joe and Eagle Warranty I think. My transmission over drive light started blinking and was not shifting properly. I took it to my mechanic who is very reliable and deals with other warranty companies on a regular basis. The diagnosis was to rebuild the transmission.

He contacted Eagle and Joe said he had to tow it to a transmission place to be torn down at my cost, $300. They would then send out an inspector, which my mechanic stated, is out to pick apart the transmission and look for something that they could get out of this claim. Even try to say it failed due to a previous owner.

I called Joe and he confirmed that i would not get reimbursed for the tear down cost and would still have to pay the $100 deductable plus, fluid, tax, filters, difference in labor ($25 per hour) and i'm sure what ever else he could throw in.

Also if the repiar is approved they would send a used transmission to my guy to be installed. It just seems like they are trying to get out of the $1800 rebuild cost. If so this warranty is crap. Eagle keeps sending me mail to extend my coverage too. What coverage am I getting and why would I want to extend it?

I also called the dealer I bought the car from from who paid for 6 months coverage.

I let him know that the $100 deductable he told me about when I bought the car was a crock and if Eagle has their way will be $600 to $800 out of my pocket. He assured me that if this happens he will call Eagle since buys many warranties on all his cars. I don't want to take that chance.

If anyone has advice on how to handle this please write back. I don't want what happened to Toniw61 to happen to me.
