Excessive repair costs and the absence of a responsible response Mississauga And Nationwide

In May I purchased a used Infiniti G35 and 18 months later I had incurred almost $6,000 in maintenance repair charges.

While the repairs were varied the majority of the breakdowns were related to electronics. My first experience was a problem with the break light system which made the vehicle inoperable. After repairing the break light system, I encountered a number of problems related to the radio, heater and air conditioning controls. The vehicle was in the shop, Trans Canada Nissan in Peterborough Ontario Canada, on various occasions for this particular problem. After the electronic failures, the car then required a control arm and further work on the undercarriage and suspension.

Once I realized that these problems would persist, I made an appeal to the garage that serviced the vehicle and collected princely sums for the repairs. My concerns went unheeded and I was directed to Infiniti Canada.

This next phase of my consumer nightmare, dealing with Infiniti Canada, was a relentless exposure to bureaucratic liability resistance. My emails and phone calls went unanswered, when I finally spoke with a living breathing representative they would ask for more details and then explain how they were unable to address my issues.

In frustration I contact the president of Nissan in Japan and while he had a representative contact me, the outcome was the same. "We are unable to address your issues."

An Infiniti G35 sells for approximately $40,000, I purchased the three year old vehicle for $24,000. The costs of keeping the vehicle on the road were as stated above $6,000, for a total of $30,000 over an eighteen month period. That's right if you do the math this represents a monthly cost of ownership of $1,666.

If you go to the Infiniti website and read their customer mission statement you are hard pressed to understand the companies response to the excessive costs that I incurred. Their mission statement reads as follows:

"As the originators of some of the world's most luxurious and satisfying automobiles, we strive to have our customers totally delighted with their purchases and overall ownership experience. As a result, you will find the same attention-to-detail that goes into the manufacturing of the entire Infiniti line also applies to you and your degree of total satisfaction. From that all-important first Dealership visit through to your each and every encounter, the relationship between Infiniti and you is all-important and the cornerstone of how we do business."

It is apparent that this undertaking to their customers is a hollow declaration.
