Ripoff bought a used car that would not pass DEQ so they fixed it by simply taking the radio out to get it to pass rather than rewiring the radio correctly

We bought a 1998 vehicle from Thomason Ford with a couple obvious problems that they said they would fix. Also, we bought the car the last day of August and the tags were set to expire in September so they said to just take it to DEQ and they would reimburse us for it. Isn't the car illegal the next day? Why was this not taken care of.

The two visual items that needed to be fixed were a portion of the side panel was bent and needed to be replaced and the inner molding around the passenger door needed to be glued or fixed. My wife brought the vehicle in a total of about ten times, mainly for the molding.

The side panel was fixed on the second trip, one for a paint sample and then one to repair the part. The molding was attempted to be repaired three times with no success. My wife would take it to Thomason Ford, they would keep the car all day, she would then pick it up, get home, and the molding would fall off again.

This happened until we talked to a manager and he said that they would just order the part from VW. Isn't that what they agreed to in the first place? I took the vehicle in for inspection so they could order the part early one Saturday morning.

My wife called two weeks later because no one bothered to call us and they said the part had been in for over a week. We took the car down, let it sit all day, only to realize they ordered the wrong part.

We again waited two weeks and had to call them ourselves. They said the part was in and all we had to do was stop by. Finally, nearly three months after we purchased the car the problem has been fixed.

One other issue is that we have yet to recieve my paycheck stub and electrical bill (proof that we are Oregon residence for sales tax reasons) back after all this time. We have called multiple times with multiple promises from them saying that they would call us back, which they never do. This has to be the worst company I have ever dealt with.
