Jordan Autos: What looks too good to be true usually is!

Cars & Transport

After some personal setbacks in my life, I went to Jordan Autos in Jonesboro, GA to get a vehicle financed to make a new start. I purchased the automobile in September giving them a $1500 cash downpayment for a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. It appeared to be a very nice vehicle and had all the bells and whistles. I literally thought it was the easiest car deal transaction I had ever made in my life! They had the car washed, detailed and ready to go the same afternoon a closed the deal. The salesman I dealt with assured me their cars are "all checked out and pass a checklist of items that must be met before selling the car". A mere 4 months later (late January) I was driving down the street and the car began making this LOUD crunching/grinding noise! With NO warning, it would not accelrate and cars were behind me on Peachtree Industrial a very busy street! After pulling over to a lube/oil change station (which was closed) I ended up calling someone to come and pick me up. I left the vehicle there overnight and put a service estimate report in the door. The next day I found out that it would cost me $2500 to get the Jeep fixed! I called another establishment and had it towed thinking it may be a better deal SOMEWHERE out there. They came and got it and low and behold, they told me it would be $2349!! When I told them I would just come and get it, they said it would be $1300 to put the vehicle back together so I was forced to leave it there for them to fix. Being a single mother who does not have an extra $2500 just laying around, it has been a very difficult situation for me not being able to get back and forth to work. I eventually lost my job and the Jeep, needless to say, is STILL at the shop.By the way! The transmission AND transfer case (whatever that is) had to both be replaced!!! So, I am still, 4 months later, stuck with no vehicle and STILL paying the car note AND insurance. This has been a nightmare! When I spoke to the employees at Jordan Auto, they informed me "the person who sold you the vehicle is no longer here and there is nothing we can do about it as it was sold 'as is'"! These type of practices are so shady and to not stand behind the vehicles you sell to consumers is a travesty!!! This has put me in a terrible financial situation and the finance company has not worked with me well either. So, the next time any of you purchases a vehicle from Jordan Auto, please make sure you get the extended warranty. Or better yet, just go somewhere else because although their vehicles may LOOK good, they just don't stand behind them if they have issues. And 4 months is not enough time for a transmission to just "go bad" if it's working properly in the first place!!! What a nightmare!
