I have a 2000 Dodge Durango.

It has a history of the door locking mechanism not working properly since the vehicle had 5K to 10K miles. I've taken it many times to the dealer to have this problem fixed. What it was doing is the door locks continue to go up & down while driving or the vehicle was sitting. Each time the dealer was not able to locate the problem because coincidently the problem would stop when they had the vehicle. The service adviser one time even saw the problem himself, but when it made it to the shop, it stopped doing it, and the problem was never fixed. It was taken to the dealer at least 5 times for this problem. Finally the right front passenger door actuator when bad and they fixed that problem and replaced the door lock.

That brings me to the latest...

The vehicle currently has 48,000 miles. At approx. 44,000 miles, the right rear passenger door lock actuator went bad. Every time I lock the door or unlock the door there is a buzzing sound like the actuator has gone bad.

When this started to happen, I tried to unlock the right front passenger door with the key so that I would not have to hear the bussing sound, only to find out that they never keyed the lock to the same key as the other side when they replaced the lock on the right front door.

The door locks wore out during the time that they went up and down for about a month straight.

All the dealer would tell me is that I had to buy an extended warranty if I wanted it covered in the future. The future at the time was NOW, and they never did fix the problem correctly.

The vehicle was purchased from Serramonte Auto Plaza, but was serviced as Les Vogel Dodge in Burlingame, CA because I live 4 blocks from Les Vogel. Les Vogel Dodge has since gone out of business.

I feel that the Dodge Corporation should cover this work under the original warranty.

Please help me with this matter.
