Beware! I was ripped off by Ron Stebbles the owner of Speed Unlimited Volkswagen Repai

I was taken for over $1700 of hard earned money by Speed Unlimited and Ron Stebbles the owner.

I had my VW Super Beatle engine rebuilt by them. Speed Unlimited markets themselves as VW experts. They are not. They totally ruined my motor. Less than 4,000 miles later the engine ground to a halt. They refused to waranty the work. Ron Stebbles is a creep. A control freak creep.

None of the mechanics would talk to me. The service manager, Dan Bergam is a strange one too. I later found out from other shops that he is high on meth or coke most of the time.

One mechanic Mike is a convicted sex offender.

I tried to get Speed Unlimited to refund some of the money but nothing&I was thrown off the property. I was assaulted. My car was damaged by Dan and Mike.

I talked to 5 other shops in town. The moment the name Ron Stebles or Speed Unlimited came up they either began to laugh, or worse. One should would not work on any engine that Speed Unlimited has touched. They are THAT BAD.

Finally the engine was removed and inspected by a shop on the coast. The alleged rebuild was nothing but used parts. ANd wrong parts. Parts from asia that are cheap, low quality and should never be used.

I was lucky I did not have a fire. Parts on my Super Beatle were removed and asian parts put in place. I had a Solex carb replaced last summer by a VW dealership in Santa Barbara. But the carb on my beatle was from Asia and not a Solex.

The heads were not mine either. I had actual German heads, they put on Brazilian heads of bad quality and they were used...

Bad people folks. Ron Stebles is a creep. Dan Bergam has been tossed from many shops in town. His own businesses were closed because of his drug use. The State of Cal has a file on him. Dan will never have a license to work on his own again.

Stebles hires paroless who are desperate. He preys upon the VW community but the word is getting out. Part shops hate his guts, other VW shops are laughing at his business and lack therein.

Do not do business unless you want to get riped off... No one has anything good to say
