Gone Coastal Consulting
Greenpea Recruiters - Etail Experts Inc. Tried to sell me a training manual for 629.00 Denison texas

Cars & Transport

Well, you can decide if this is a ripoff or not but I was called for interview for a possible position at the local car dealer and I arrived ahead of time and met with the recruiter who asked several questions and I answered all of them honestly and forthright. He explained to me the position and times and said I would need to attend twos of meeting to explain the position further. Well, I passed level one interview and was scheduled for the next meeting on the following day. No problem I was ready and able to meet.

So on the second day I arrived on time and met with the recruiter and two other possible candiates for the postion that was being offered. Well, we sit down to the usual boring speech and he proceeds to tell us about his company and what they do and I knew at that time it was not going to get better.

He said that we need to have the training manual and it costs 629.00 mind you he would not tell me how much the manual was during the first interview because I asked. If I had known I would not have bothered but it gets better.

I came back from a break and I was the only one to survive, the other two left for obvious reasons and me being the type of person who will follow something up and see how it is played out. Well we finished that day and I came back with my questions for the general mgr and I spoke to the recruiter and told him I was excited about the position. Well he wanted to talk about the money before speaking to the general mgr. No problem because I read contracts and I noticed it said no refunds and no guarantee of job placement here or anywhere else and I advised him that I would need to speak to the general mgr before I give him the money and we bantered back and forth and finally he said that he wont be giving my information to the general mgr. I said to myself, so you want my money first and they have not even done a background check? I asked him if I gave you the money and you did not get me a job I would be stuck with a manual that is basically useless and you would have my money. He said that he would find work for me in other dealers and I said if you dont, I am out of my money.

So we ended it there and thought about it long and hard about posting this and feel the position was never really there and it was there to sell his expensive training manual which to me is too expensive and I did not need it because of my extensive background in customer service.

So folks, word to the wise... Read the contract before you and if you apply to a dealer who is using the above, do not give any money till you speak to the general mgr and you know you have the job.

And lastly, is this a ripoff or a scam... You decide..
