These people should be arrested for what they do!

Okay to start with I did not have bad credit. I was young and did not have enough aquired credit to be approved for a car at a big dealership. My fiance and I had an 8 month old baby at the time and I was driving a 1998 Mustang that our daughters car seat barely fit into. So feeling that my vehicle was unsafe for our baby we wanted to get something a little bigger/safer for our daughter and the only choice we had was Drivetime.

The salesman named "Manny" (I will never forget that mans face!) knew the reason we were looking for another vehicle and we had our baby with us! He had us look at a 2004 Ford Focus this car was nice however, it had no power windows or locks. I told him "no way!!!" I am constantly carrying a car seat, purse, baby, diaper bag, you name it... No way!!! I do not want this car!" He goes inside and quickly comes out with a clicker and says "It's okay all you have to do is go to a Ford dealership and have this programmed to the car and you will have power doors and an alarm!" "Manny" also told us that we had a warranty that word for word "covers everything on the car except if a button falls off or something cosmetic".

Then we did not have full coverage insurance and I told him we would come abck the next day. He then made a call and even took my payment for insurance for some company that he knew. That insurance company was a joke to say the least!"Manny then had us sign a paper saying that he did not persuade us to use any insurance company." I thought at the time that he had done us a favor, which is how they make it seem.

They only gave me $1000.00 trade in for my mustang which was worth more (and had power everything) and when we took that clicker thing to the Ford dealership they looked at me like a complete idiot and said "Who told you that? This car doesn't even have the motors in the door to program!" I called "Manny" that day and he had no clue who we where or what we where talking about!!! We bought the car in August and in early November while I was driving the car (and making every rediculus bi-weekly payment early or on-time) it just started driving like crap... Running rough and I thought it was going to stall out. I was on my way home from lunch and I had to call my boss to come pick me up from home so I could make it back to work. When I got back to work I called them and they told me to call the warranty dept. And they told me to take it to Mr. Transmission on Florida Ave. The next day which was 50 miles away from my house and refused to pay for a tow truck. I had to miss work and have my brother follow me there because I was so afraid of it breaking down.

The entire way there my brother said he could see it shaking and a strong gas smell was coming from it. We dropped the car off and went to get some lunch nearby when the mechanic called me and said that I can come pick up the car because DriveTime had denied the repairs, and I had to pay them the diagnostic fee when I came for them looking at my car. They said it was the coil pack and other things and I would have to pay the $500 plus labor to have it fixed. Along with my car payment of course! My car sat there for 2 weeks while I was going back and forth with drivetime to have it fixed. I had no choice but to find a new vehicle to get to work and support my family. I finally told drivetime they could have it back because I couldn't afford it and they where supposed to cover all of that under a warranty which they did not honor. And I had a car with manual door locks which I was told could be programmed to the key clicker and was a total LIE!!! I stil had to pay the diagnostic fee to pick the car up!

Now Im going at it with the credit dept because they ar esaying I owe them 10,000.00 for a 4,000 (at best) car that I couldn't fix because they did not honor the warranty! And here's the real kicker! Are you ready for this? Drivetime has no record of my car ever being in the shop and says the first the heard of the car not in running order was when we took the car back! Th only thing they have record of is us not making the last payment!

someone help please! We now have another baby on the way and cannot buy a home for our family because we have a voluntary surrender on our credit! These people are criminals!!! What do I do?
