Self insured employer has ULTIMATE power in Ohio -BEWARE if you are injured at Honda -you become even less than a Numbe

I just found this website and the stories of Honda employees. I want to speak up, too. I worked at Honda for 12 years and was part of the "team" as was preached to us "One Team". I can say from my experience that it seems as soon as someone becomes injured at Honda and cannot perform like fast fresh meat they will be exiled from the "team" one way or another. Restrictions are like the plague. Either way you hurt=you pay... And dearly.

I have been Fighting back against Honda since 2002. My work injury was never questioned by Honda or any of the so called Independent doctors. My back injury was immediate and obvious. My injury occurred in an area in the auto plant that was set up as a temporary home while construction was underway. As a group, we complained often that our temp home was not set up to let us do our jobs safely. No one cared enough to make a change. I am not the only injury from that area.

I have learned more about Honda, Worker's Comp and the politics of Ohio than I can stand. As an average citizen I would be mad to learn that the people we elect to serve us cannot or will not. It is all about the dollar. I believe that Honda spends more money fighting me than they would spend to "fix me". I would also be mad to find out Honda was playing me for a FOOL by making it look like they are wanting to help the communities and care by sponsorships, donations and such. I would also be mad to find out that the BWC still isn't cleaned up after the promises.

As an injured former employee I am frusterated, angry, and disgusted that I have learned that this is the way it has been for years and nothing real has been done to make a change. This self insured employer has the power and money to fight until they break you—money or sanity - or BOTH. It seems that anyone in authority that could stand up for the little guy doesn't. Why? I think it is out of fear. Honda has used fear as a tactic against people before. Remember all the talk of Honda leaving Ohio if a union got in???

I was also "seperated" from employment while on the injured program. My lawyer says it is a very fine line that Honda is walking when it comes to this. I would like to see this line defined. It seems that injured workers have no rights in this Money Owned system. I have heard that about 50% of the calls to Gov Strickland's office are about Workers Comp&I say great! Maybe we should go for 80% to make sure we are heard. Although, I believe we are heard —just ignored.

In case there is any doubt I have had to fight for everything that any of my doctors have ever wanted to do to help me. Almost everything has been denied, then 2 hearings worth of Fighting back. I often have to go without meds and treatment for long periods of time. I have missed playing with my kids and so much more. Honda has robbed me of my 30's.

A couple days ago, my neighbor was sent notice that Honda was taking her to county court in an attempt to stop paying her Temp Total. It just goes on and on... They never stop fighting! Neither can we. And BEWARE: they are watching!
