I purchased a 2004 ford mustang from the sanford, fl drivetime and have had nothing but problems. The first week i had the car started making funny noises and the check engine light kept coming on, it was in the shop for what they advised me was an exhaust leak. It supposeably had a 60 day warranty, but i had to argue with several different people to get this covered.

After 2 weeks of arguing they finally decided to fix the exhaust. Once i found another means of transportation so that i could get back and forth to work (they do not provide any means of transportation when they are doing maintence) i dropped the car off. I then recieved a call from the mechanic advising me that nothing was wrong with the exhaust or the car. They then turned the check engine light off and advised there was nothing wrong with the car.

A few weeks later the light came on again mind you my warranty is soon to expire and their mechanics keep saying nothing is wrong. I spoke with the manager at the sanford drivetime and advised him of my problem. What will happen when the warranty expires and then the car isnt covered? He advised me that they would have notes on my account and would still fix the problem (yeah right). I then in turn picked it up from them and decided to take it to my own mechanic for a second opinion. My mechanic advised me that the coils on the car were bad.

Keep in mind these cars are looked over by a mechanic before sale. I called drive time back and once again they advised me those parts are not covered and it would cost me $560.00 to fix. I argued with the corporate office who did not seem to care at all.

Finally i had someone from corporate call me back and they have decided to pay for the labor if i paid for parts at the cost of $350.00. I went back to my mechanic and they did the job for less than $300.00. Go figure. With this said i happen to be 2days late on my next payment and can we say stalkers they called every single number including refrences that i had listed on my application all in one day.

I would never, never, never, never suggest anyone buy a car from drivetime. The only reason i went there is because my credit wasnt that great. And on the worst end of this i found after looking over the contract that i am paying over 24.00percent interest?!?!? My last car was only at 8% with bad credit.

To make a long story short i am paying double what the car is worth. So my advise make sure to read you contracts fully or even better do not buy a car from drivetime!!!
