Misrepresented the condition of the vehicle, promised to give deposit back then wouldn't

Nov 3, I won the Ebay bid on a 2006 GMC Sierra sold by Southwest Discount Car Company and paid the requested $1,000 deposit. The Ebay ad indicated that the truck had no damage and missing parts had been replaced. We drove to Mesa to complete the deal.

Although Southwest Discount Cars supplied many photos of the pickup in the Ebay ad, they did not show pictures of the parts that were damaged or missing. Besides the excessive wear and tear of a used vehicle, there was a grab bar in the back seat missing (the ad had a picture of the one the other one) and the trailer hitch had been removed. The ad also said there was not an odor of any kind but the ash tray was half full of cigarette butts. Since this is a used vehicle, we did expect it to show some wear but the ad did not say there was an odd sound in the engine. It sounded like an exhaust leak and the oil pressure was erratic. Things like these should have been disclosed in the Ebay ad. We got a feeling that the truck is not what we had expected and ask Jaime (their sales representative) what their policy was on returning deposits. He said we could get our $1,000 deposit back but he would have to ask his boss whether he would credit our PayPal account or write a check.

After a few days I did not hear from the company so I called and talked to Chase. He said he would not return our money but he would give me back $500 if and after we gave them positive feedback on Ebay. I finally decided that $500 was better than nothing so I gave them positive feedback. Now he says he didn't like the comments I made. And will not give us our deposit back. We based our decision to not buy the truck based on the promise that we would get our deposit back. Southwest Discount Car Company misrepresented the condition of this pickup, didnt back up their promises to give us our deposit back and bribed us to give them good feedback. Stay away from this business.
