Does Not Stand Uphold Agreements, Preys on People with Less than Perfect Credit

I have been a victim of the auto finance predator who like to call themselves "Americredit." What a disgrace to use part of our country's name in their company name -also an act of deceit!

I purchased my first vehicle, which was financed by Americredit when others said no. I lost my job in Aug and called to make payment arrangements due to unemployment and hardship. I spoke with someone who got my bank information and agreed on a date to withdraw the late payments (2 months at 321.57 each). 5 days later, as I was in a store paying for gas so that I could go on an interview for a new job, I walked out of the gas station to find a tow truck backed up to my vehicle, hooked up ready to tow.

When I called Americredit, they conveniently had no record of my arrangement and claimed that I was five months late in payments. I had to enter bankruptcy in order to retrieve my car.

Well, the payments they received from bankruptcy court were not being applied to my account properly. When I was dismissed from bankruptcy due to an error by my attorney (also a fraud, who no longer practices bankruptcy law), I received a letter asking for 5 months payments plus late fees by a date two weeks away or they would reposess the car.

I did this, in attempt to save my already declining credit score and fell into another hardship. I was going through a risky pregnancy, which partially limited my ability to work. My mother called Americredit on my behalf (I was that ill) and had the representative talk to me about making 3 payments over the next three weeks. He explained that after those 3 payments were made, I could have a deferrment on the account due to my illness.

Two days later, my car was repossessed from my sisters home. The repo guys were banging on her door at 3 A.M., so loud that we thought they were going to break the door down. They would not allow us to retrieve the tags from the vehicle, did not identify themselves, etc.

Now, a year later, I receive a call from an attorney who claims to represent Americredit, asking for $8000 when I only had a $6000 balance remaining on my vehicle.

If you are purchasing a car and see the word Americredit on your financial documents run and do not look back! I am interested in filing a class action lawsuit against them because they are practicing illegally and unethical.
