Installs used parts charges customers for new parts cheated employees and screwed the customers even more

I have a story from hell to tell you about. This involves Midas, a franchisee and a former mechanic/assistant manager. I was hired in January to run the Calumet City store as the assistant manager. I informed the owner Phil Kirk about the going on there that were damaging to his business and reputation.

He must have known all about it because as a result of my telling him, I was prompty fired. Or as he called it "suspension until further notice." Mr. Kirk however, filled my position, asked me for my keys and changed the locks. Does that sound like an employee you plan to return to work?

Anyway, I told him that the store manager Tom, was using drugs and alcohol on company time and inside the shop. As a result of the drugs, he would become violent toward me and the customers. Tom had drugs delivered to the shop in the mornings when we opened the store. We were also encouraged to steal from local junkyards, parts for customer's cars. I never stole. I paid for them with my own money and Mr. Kirk refused to reimburse me. These parts, which came from the junkyard were passed off to the customer as new parts and charged accordingly.

Mr. Kirk knew all about it, stating to Tom, "That's a wide profit margin." So, that's my story, a man who was fired for standing up for what is right. I have contacted Midas International, which is based out of Chicago. I told them that I know this goes against Midas' ethics of business. So far, they have not replied to my letter.

I sent it almost three months ago. I don't know what to think. Do they really even care? I have also told the Better Business Bureau recently as well. I hope everyone who goes to Midas makes sure you are getting what you pay for. Thanks for listening.
