Cottmans
Big mistake!

On November 23 my transmission gave out in the middle of Medlock Bridge@ 11pm. I got vehicle towed to cottmans and left a voice giving them my information of where I can be reached, the car make and model.
I spoke with a representative by the name of Robbie who seem to have good customer service but turns out to be the person that can not give you clear answers and return the phone calls when needed. It was as if they were holding my car hostage!

I spoke with Robbie, describing what the car was doing, instead of telling me up front how much it was going to cost for looking, inspecting the vehicle he goes right into asking do you want us to start on it, I was uncomfortable with the situation but felt like I did not have a choice... I asked Robbie How much is it going to cost for the second time, he could not give me a clear answer. I was still suspicouse being that this is a place of business that specialises in Transmissions...

Needless to say that it was no problem for him to get back with me within that day to tell me what was wrong with my car. I was told in the conversation that my gears were burned out and that it needs to be replaced; Robbie explaines to me that im gonna need a new warranty and that I have the option of purchasing a 1 year for $2300.00 or a 3year for $3000.00 I explained to him that I do not have neither amount is there a financing company that I can speak with, also what does a new waranty consist of... He states that I will Have "the same shell but new guts".

The financing company did not work out, I told cottman's/Robbie that I will be taking my car out of the shop so do not service it I will just pay them for inspecting my car... Robbie asks me if he could give me a call back within in the day I said ok... I did not hear from him or anyone else... I had to call the shop myself and tell them im comming to get my car. Robbie stalls by saying let me see what I can do about getting you financed and let me call you back... AGAIN no callback from Cottmansat this point my car has been at their shop for 3days.

At this point I was upset because of the communication. I spoke with the manager stating that I was comming to get my car and thanking for their help even though I was not pleased! She dropped the price down to $1800.00. Bottom line I could not afford it. I asked her how much is it going to cost for them just looking at vehicle because that was I requested she says $388.00. At this point I just wanted my car. I gave them my last $388.00 scheduled the towing service later on that day.

This was day 4 by the way, by the time I got got my vehicle, my hubcaps were off my tires and placed in the back of my trunk with the dismantled transmission... Now, I have basic knowledge about cars but I was expecting for everything to be placed back the way the found it... Especially for $388.00.
