Went up on price in the middle of the deal

O n 11/24/07 I stopped at Larry Rich Nissan in Lagrange, Ga while looking for a car for my daughter who had recently wrecked hers. I told the salesman that I had $5000.00 to spend and not a cent more.
He showed me a used Vovo that had been in a hailstorm which I was not interested in. He then showed me a 2002 Maxima with high miles that needed tires and had body damage to the hood and left fender. He said he was not sure he could sell the car for $5000 but would go in and check with the manager (Mr John Rich).
The salesman returned shortly and told me that the manager said that since I was from out of state and would not have to pay sales tax in Georgia, that he would let me have it for the $5000. I drove the car and when we returned to the dealership, I told the salesman that I would take the car. He reached out and shook my hand and told me congradulations.
We started into the building and he asked if I would be writing a check. I told him that I would be paying cash and I had the $5000 in my pocket. We started doing the paper work and after a few minutes he excused himself and went and talked with the Manager (John Rich) again.
Upon his return, the salesman told me that they had made a mistake and priced the wrong car but that since they had told me they would let me have this car for $5000 that they would honor the deal but I would have to pay an additional $300 and something dollars (I think it was $364) for document fees.
I told him that I only had $5000 and we had made a deal and shook hands on it. He talked to Mr Rich again and Mr. Rich then informed me that they had made a mistake and I would have to have more money if I wanted the car. However, he said I could just pay the $5000 today and pay the rest in a week or two.
I could'nt believe the tactics these people use to get more money out of me. Needless to say, I left with a renewed negative opinion of car dealers but without the car.
