Ripped off on car sale

I bought a car from R& G Auto Sales on Route 20 in Worcester MA in 2005. I paid $4,000, and the term of the loan was for 2 1/2 years. I got four months use out of the car. It had an electrical system failure and this was not covered, although I also purchased a warranty from a secondary vendor, at the urging of the salesman.

I brought the car back to the delaer after several months of the car sitting while I decided what to do, and after finding a place I could park a car that does not run. The dealer has allowed me to park the car on their premises, and although they have made some efforts to repair the car, they are at the point that they do not want to deal with it anymore. I contacted the warranty company when the car first died, and they informed em that "the warranty does not cover the electrical system." Great.

I also contacted the attorney general's office fo consumer affairs and was informed that I do not have legal recourse and I am not entitled to reimbursement.

My criticism is that this dealer had no business selling a suspect car. Although I should have been more discerning, I used this dealer because I have dealt with the previous owner (Pudgy) and received a fair deal. I also needed a car quickly so I can get to work. This transaction amounts to an unscrupulous dealer taking advantage of working people who do not qualify for new car loans. I have received good service from the finance company the dealer uses, and recommend that they drop this dealer.
