Vehicle Repossessed After Deferment Payments, Now Owes $8K

I was laid off my job and entered into a deferrment with Drive, made my payments as I should have - and the DAY of the last payment - coincidentally two days after I notified them, I was working - they repossessed my vehicle. I was 3 months behind - when I called them they said I had to pay 4K to get it back -when I owed $1000.00.

They have sold the vehicle for 5K and I now owe them 8K. This is ridiculous. They pretended to be sympathetic & VALUE me as a customer (I had been with them 2 1/2 years! My first car - and now I am screwed, I can not get a car for the life of me.

When I call them - they just hang up on me after putting me on hold, and I WAIT for a manager! It's ridiculous, unfair and should be illegal.

I am a hard working single mother with a 4 and 6 year old. My car - was out lively hood!
