Charging CC too much money - won't refund

I rented a vehicle from the McDowell location on August 16th, to return it on the 18th. I kept the vehicle one extra day, calling and advising them of this. On Sunday, my fiance locked the keys in the vehicle and called them. She was having to deal with the office on Indian School Road, because the McDowell location was closed.

They said it would be about an hour before they could send a locksmith over to let her in. They told her the charge would be $40.00. She waited and finally called them to see where they were and they told her they would call her when they arrived. Upon her going outside to the vehicle to wait for them, the vehicle was gone. She called them and they told her they picked up the vehicle because I was not with the vehicle. They had no idea where I was at this time. There were personal belongings inside the vehicle that they told her she couldn't have unless I came to pick them up. I was not available to go there and wouldn't be until the next day sometime. She was planning on returning the vehicle to them before 1 o'clock as this was the time it was due in.

She decided to go to the Indian School location, and they made her pay $40.00 for the locksmith they said. She asked for the items that were in the vehicle and they gave her a plastic bag which she checked before leaving. There was a pair of binoculars and the bottom part of her bridge for her mouth missing from the contents. The man she was dealing with said to go look inside the vehicle, and nothing was there. Then he directed her to go talk to the workers in the bay area, and they saw her coming and one guy handed the binoculars to her that he had in his hand alreaady, and then she asked about her bridge, and another guy reached on top of a shelf unit, and there they were, wrapped inside a paper towel. What the hell did they want with her bridge? This was clearly a theft on their part and had she not asked for these items, they would have gotten away with stealing them. SHe went into the office and told the guy she had recovered the items, mentioning to him that they had planned on stealing these items, and he said nothing. He told her to have me call him when I could to get the charges straightened out. I received my bank statement that said they charged me the whole $250.00 that I had left for an authorization when renting the vehicle, and are trying to say that I owe them an additional $25.00. I have disputed the whole amount with my bank, and of course, Saban's will not speak to me about this at all.

This place is an absolute joke, and it's sad, because my fiance and I have rented from them for quite some time and never had a bad experience until now. I have referred plenty of people to them as well, and you can be assured this will never happen again. Don't let them win, stand up for what is right and follow through with your complaints to the end. It's time consuming and tedious, but hopefully something will happen to make this company stop abusing people, stealing from them, and acting in ways that are illegal and unlawful.
