Mazda Of Cool Springs
Service department doesn't stand it's verbal agreements

Cars & Transport

I purchased my Mazda 3 at the end of December from your very competent sales consultants. It is my opinion that Mazda of Cools Springs was very professional and extremely competent in their negotiation and sales manner. It was a pleasure being your customer.
I called Mazda of Cool Springs to schedule maintenance on my 2006 mazda 3 that had close to 30,000 miles in mid August. Numerous service department employees told me that the clutch was fully covered under my warranty. I drove over an hour and finally had to be towed to the dealership with less than 5 miles to go. Once I dropped off the car to the service department I asked "Justin" is my clutch covered because the clutch was not going into gear. I agreed to the normal maintenance for 30k. I was told once again that the clutch was covered.

Once my car was in the shop the dealership informs me the clutch is considered a wear and tear item and would not be under warranty, I have had problems in the past with the clutch sticking and the gears being hard to shift. I was offered 15% off the price for my inconveince and given a rental car to drive until it was fixed. This was on a Sat... Tuesday they called and told us that something else was wrong with the clutch pedal, they had to order MORE part it would take an extra couple of days to fix, and cost almost 200 dollars more.

On Friday at 5 pm they called to say the rental car was costing me 30 a day from the time I initally got it until I returned to get my car, the rental car place closed at 6pm, the price had climbed to over $1600.00 dollars at that time! I called a couple of reputable car service shops and had quotes around $850.00 to have the same work done in two days!!!

I called the mazda customer assistance line and was told by them that the service department employee was rude. The Mazda Corporation offered me $200 off, and stated "I could either be happy with this or they would take that away as well". I have driven an hour out of my way to return to the dealership were I bought my car and am now being expected to pay twice the amount for the same work.instead of receiving the same top notch service the sales team had shown me, I am having to deal with team members who are obviously incompetant in dealing with customers, confused about their policies, and "bothered" with my business. I feel unsatisfied with not only my service but also the treatment of my wife and myself by the Mazda Corporation and especially the Cool Springs Dealership. It is poor business practice to make verbal agreements you don't stand behind.
