Double charged for auto repair, if I refused to pay then they would have kept my car. Ripoff

I received a price quote over the phone to repair my car from Wolf's Auto Repair. Tom sr. Stated the price and said that it had to be paid in cash before the repair could be started. So I went to their place of business with the cash and paid for it all in advance. I asked what the timeline for the repair to be completed was and was told three days. I was also told that the part was a reconditioned transmission and held a warranty good for 75,000 miles on all labor and parts.

When I went to pickup my car, because 9 days later they called me and said it was done, well, when I arrived at their place of business my car was parked all the way in the back of their lot blocked in by other cars. I saw Tom jr and requested my keys and at that time I was told that I owed them an additional sum of money if I wanted my car back and that I had to pay them this additional amount of money in cash only. When I looked over the car to see the work completed on it I noticed it had a transmission in it that was in no way reconditioned. It was caked with mud and dirt and looked like it was taken out of a junk yard from a junk car buried in the mud.

Well I paid the additional money just so I could get the hell out of that place. My car now sits in my driveway, unable to be driven anywhere. It's totally useless now. And I am out thousands of dollars.

It was without a doubt a complete "Bait and switch" scam from start to finish. And from what I have been told by others who have gone there is that they receive the similar type of treatment.
