As a divorced mother of two, and considered a minority, I was working in the Delphi Packard plant owned by General Motors. My pay was 6.25 per hour and I paid my union dues. When I was threatend by another employee and her friends, I immidiatly reported this to the personnel manager, a black man who is still personnel manager at this Gadsden, Alabama plant. I was fired on the spot. This personnel manager stood by the exit and laughed at me while I was crying and walking out the door. Problems with automobiles, as I have personally seen the shabby work and cheaply made parts added on to these extreamly overpriced auto's. Problems with your auto's start at these plants, well known by all company heads, regardless of any excuse or should I say lies made by these companies. I still have nightmares about that day. Unions did me no good.
