Kia motors your crankshaft may break! It happened to me and many others. No assistance from Kia! Wow! Ripoff

I own a 2003 Kia Sorento. At 48000 miles, without warning the CRANKSHAFT bolts broke while driving. Fortunately I was not too far from home and was able to get it home. It was taken to the Kia dealer nearest my home and repairs which took about 3 weeks to complete. Kia does not provide loaner vehicles as part of their warranty, Sometimes they assist with the cost.in my case, for no explained reason, they did not pay for the rental and it cost me over $600 in out of pocket expense.

I never received a "customer satisfaction" phonecall either! I wonder why not! The dealers' service was fine. Kia's service is certainly not like Toyota, Honda, Nissan or the other companies Kia tries to copy!

However, the REAL problem is this is not the only case of a broken crankshaft and/or related components on 2003 Kia Sorentos. Most of the time, when this sudden failure occurs, the vehicle stops and the customer is stranded. Kia does not authorize an engine replacement - rather they choose to replace only the defective parts causing further delays in the repair process. They don't even pay for all the incidental related items such as oil, coolant, etc. If the customer needs to rent a car, this is an additional financial burden for the customer as there is no assurance of assistance from Kia.

The failure may go beyond 2003 model year Sorentos and customer safety is seriously compromised when this sudden failure occurs.

Be careful when driving your Kia - especially on the open highway!
If you have had a similar problem with your Sorento, you may want to report it. Agencies such as the NHTSA and the BBB may want to know about it.
