Worthless Warranty

I chose to file this report after reading other complaints about this company.in December, I purchased an OEM fuel pump module for my Jeep from Global Automotive. The feedback for this large eBay store was 99% positive, and they promised a 1 year warranty on the part.

Roughly 5 months later, the pump gave out. When I contacted Global by e-mail, they responded by asking for the eBay auction number and my zip code, which I promptly provided. That was the last time I ever heard from them.

Since then, I have sent dozens of e-mails, left phone messages, and have attempted action through eBay and Paypal customer service. Still, Global Automotive lists hundreds of parts for sale every day. You don't know where these parts came from, but Global says you can buy with confidence because of their 1 year warranty.
I don't object to them selling questionable merchandise to unsuspecting buyers. Remember, if the deal is too good to be true, there's probably a reason. What I do object to is them representing these parts as first quality and guaranteeing their long term performance. If that pump had failed when my son or daughter was pulling out into traffic, I hate to think of what might have happened.

Just once I'd like to see a company like Global be held accountable for its actions. Promised or implied warranties are covered under various interstate commerce acts, so I'm sure there may be some way to go after them from that angle. Also they ship primarily through the USPS, so mail fraud is another angle.

My next effort will be to send Global a registered letter... So far, I have not been able to confirm that their physical address listed on eBay is legitimate. I will also be looking into filing mail fraud charges. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
