Even though we only had 34,000 miles on our Ford Windstar, the transmission went! The warranty is 3 years or 36,000 miles and Ford said the 3 yrs. Were up 5 months ago, so they couldn't help us. I called Customer Service and they promised to look into it. They said they'd call back the next day at 11:00 am. After waiting till 12:30, I called them and was told they couldn't help me.
The dealership where I had the transmission replaced, admitted that a tranmission should last longer than this, but only gave us $100 off the bill in labor. We had to pay $2483.00 out of our own pockets. We bought the car in June and during the 13 months we owned it, took it into a local service center (Not a Ford Dealership) twice for tune-ups and kept up with regular oil changes.
