Sold me a lemon with major engine damage and will not make it right false promises

On July 16 I purchased a 2001 Town & Country LTD for $ 24,998 with less than 20,000 miles. When I left the lot I noticed vibrating at stops and idle and terrible gas mileage. I took a check to them to pay for the vehicle within a day or two and tried to get them to look at it for me. They couldn't check the vehicle out that week and had me make an appointment for the end of the next week. Of course it was past the 5 days you are allowed just to bring it back. I made the appointment and brought it in.

They called and said that I couldn't get it back that day because the third cylinder was not firing. They promised to fix it within the week. It turns out that they had to put a new head on it, new gasket, new valve, new intake valve and replace an injector. The valves were burnt.

This is major engine damage that had to have occurred before I bought it. I tried to get them to just buy the thing back but they would not even offer me what I paid for it. They would only offer $ 24,000.00 and I had even put a DVD player in it. I offered to buy a new vehicle to replace it if they would just pay me what I paid them for it and I would even forget about the DVD player that I had installed for $ 1400.00. They refused.

Carmax has a brochure that states "7 easy steps to buying your perfect car" They say they reject 1 out of 10 cars they consider for selling. They say that their used vehicles are thoroughly reconditioned and inspected. I say that is all hogwash. It is false advertisment and constitutes fraud to induce someone to buy their cars. All they had to do was put mine on a machine and they would have seen that the third cylinder wasn't firing. I am not going to lay down for it. They will make it right or they will be sued.

I am looking forward to seeing how their employee responds to this because their is no justification for what they have done. I would not have purchased a used car but for their representations of the quality of their used cars. DON'T BUY AT CARMAX.
