Incorrect Oil Change Could Damage Ford F150 Engine

TIRE KINGDOM WARNING
On April 15, (a Sunday) I took my 2005 Ford F150 truck (with 46,900 miles) to the Tire Kingdom location in Ocean Springs, Mississippi to have a tire repaired. After talking to the manager, I decided to have my tires rotated and, at his recommendation, I elected to have a package of work that included tire rotation, oil & filter change, oil system cleaner, ever-wear fuel system cleaner and engine treatment for $57.99 along with having my tire repaired for $24.99.
On the morning of April 16, the repaired tire was flat. I returned to the store and had the tire repaired again. On the afternoon of April 16, my check engine light came on. I referred to my owners manual which identified this light as service engine soon.
On April 17, the service engine soon light began flashing and the vehicle engine was operating very roughly with no acceleration. I then immediately took the vehicle to a local auto repair shop that I have used for ten years and he advised that based on his computer analysis and checking there was an internal engine problem, probably relating to the timing system. He questioned when it started and I advised him it happened right after the Tire Kingdom service. He investigated further and found the following:
1.) The oil filter was never changed, although I was charged for it.
2.) The oil used (10W30Bulkoil) was incorrect. The manufacturer (Ford) recommends 5W-20 Premium synthetic blend.
3.) The amount of oil used was in excess of the amount called for by one quart.
4.) Oil system cleaner, fuel system cleaner and engine treatments were added even though the manufacturer specifically says in the owners manual and I quote, DO NOT USE SUPPLEMENTAL ENGINE OIL ADDITIVES, CLEANERS OR OTHER ENGINE TREATMENTS. THEY ARE UNNECESSARY AND COULD LEAD TO ENGINE DAMAGE.
After making Tire Kingdom aware of all of this, they had the vehicle checked by a Ford service center and denied any responsibility for the engine problem which is still unresolved one month later. I am now in the process of having a professional forensic mechanic totally analyze the engine, the Tire Kingdom so called service and the damage to the vehicle.
Once this information is in hand, I plan on turning this information over to my attorney to investigate the possibility of suing on behalf of myself and any other aggrieved party. If what the manufacturer states in the owners manual is correct, Tire Kingdom is doing unnecessary servicing to vehicles that could cause engine damage on top of the poor workmanship.
When made aware of all that has happened to my vehicle, the area manager stated, We have all had problems somewhere haven't we? And Your vehicle's problem is due to lack of service (although, that is not the case). Obviously, lack of service is better than Tire Kingdom's very poor service. If you have had a similar experience with this company, please let me know. I feel sure this is not an isolated case.
