GEICO Insurance thinks we can't do SIMPLE MATH!

After being saturated with the multiple GEICO advertisements (both on TV and in our mailbox), my husband and I thought, "Hey, why not make that 15 minute call that could save us as much as 40% on our automobile insurance?" DON"T WASTE YOUR BREATH!!!

My husband spent much longer than 15 minutes on the phone with a GEICO representative going over all the details. Currently we spend approximately $1300 a year on our insurance for our two vehicles. For the SAME, EXACT coverage GEICO quoted my husband a price of about $800. My husband repeatedly asked the representative if this coverage was for a year. And repeatedly he was assured that it was coverage for a year.

Being a CAUTIOUS and EDUCATED consumer, my husband said he wanted to think about it and would call them back in a few days. He called back and went over each and every item on our State Farm coverage so we would have the same coverage with GEICO. Again he was quoted a little over $800 for a year's coverage. That was a $500 savings. Sign us up!!!

Thank goodness we didn't cancel our coverage with State Farm... We were in the reinstatement phase! When we received our policy from GEICO... Guess what? The $800 was for a 6 month premium!!! Not for a year! So, we would be paying $1600 a year for GEICO.

Do they think we are that stupid? Upon opening that policy, my husband immediately called, only to be told that he must have misunderstood the quote.
