In Jan we bought a 2001 Balzer and had it financed through another company. We received a packet in the mail from CAPITAL ONE AUTO FINANCE CENTER wanting to refinace our Blazer for a lower payment, lower intrest rate, and no payments for 90 days. Sounds good right... Wrong.

We refinanced our loan with them in Oct which means our first payment was due in Jan. We asked them to set us up on the auto payment withdrawl and they sent us the paper work to have this done. We sent it in with a copy of a blank voided temporary check. They lost the paperwork 4 times before they actually got it right. Meanwhile we where having to go to the bank and get a money order and mail it in. We where never late. If it looked as if it was going to be late we did a pay by phone and was charged an additional $10.00 processing fee. When you do a check by phone your funds have to be there in the account by 8 am the following day... No problem. It takes them 3 days to credit your account meanwhile everynight you get phone calls asking where your payment is.

We then applied for a new home loan to buy a house and found out that on our credit report it show that we have been late 40 times over 90 days and that the vehicle has been repossed. We have not even had the blazer with them for 12 months so how can we be 40 payments behind? We have not even had the blazer for 40 payments and as far as the repossion I have the blazer and drive it everyday to and from work.

When I called them to have it corrected they told me I would have to file a dispute with the credit repoting agency and it would take 60-90 days to correct. I then asked them if there is an auto payment withdrawl how can I be late 40 times? Again they told me to file it with the credit agency. I then asked them if I could get a letter for the mortgage company stating that I was and never have been late and was told again to file a dispute and that was the best they could do. I then told them what I was going to do. I told them that since they had possion of the blazer according to the credit report I would not make any further payments after all they can't come get it right they all ready have it. I told them if it was not fixed by Aug 20 I would pull the money out of that account until it was corrected.

The rep I spoke with told I could not do that and that there was procedures on how I had to fix this error. I told her I did not make the error and since you already have the blazer you can't reposses it, you already did that. We are still waiting to see if it get fixed. Meanwhile our credit score dropped and it has made getting a home loan very hard without paying a high intrest rate.

They have credit cards also watch them they did the same thing with them. We were however able to speak to a supervisor and get a letter stating that the accounts are and always have been in good standing and that they would fix and correct the report. Let me say that was in April and it's still messed up.

Watch out for any dealing with capital one with anything. They will ruin your credit in 5 seconds and it takes 60 - 90 days for them to fix.
