Your hamfisted underhanded tactics will come back to haunt you, you crooks

I received a letter from Dealer Services tonight that just really irritated me and I wanted to do something.

First, the letter is 100% misleading, and to some would seem to be directly from the dealer. I recently bought a new GM vechicle, and declined the added warranty so I wonder if this is how they got my name?!

What bothered me:

A) The logo for Dealer Services is "DS" in white letters, in a blue box, with a white underline under the DS. The spitting image of the GM logo. This alone should be a copyright infringement and is very misleading.

B) The fact that they bolded the text "FINAL NOTICE" more than once practically pulled the curtain back for me. I'd never received an initial notice.

C) The whole offer revolved around employee pricing and 0% financing. ON A WARRANTY??!?!

The letter closes with options for opting out of further prescreened offers. The way I see it, contacting them by these means is nothing more than verifying I exist.

In short, if you are offering a legitimate service, why not be up-front about it? The logo truly irritated me, as well as the urgent verbiage - though I do receive plenty of DM mail with that.

I just couldn't help think of friends and family that could easily fall prey to this nonsense.

I feel bad about the guy with the Dodge that was affected by this.

Someone should do something about this.
