Ripoff If I had only known!

On 12/28 I contacted ASAP for my customer and purchased a used transmission for his 98 Dodge Caravan. I was told I would be receiving the transmission on 01/02/07. I did not receive it until 01/10. Upon arrival my techs installed the transmission. The transmission slipped in second gear. I then contacted ASAP and was told that I would have to ship the transmission back to them. They would then inspect the transmission and reship me another one.

Ms Hoover then told me I would have to sign the contract she was faxing to me. Upon receiving the contract I read over it and it stated that "I have read and understand the refund and exchange policy." I told Ms Hoover that I would not be signing the contract because I had never received a copy of the policy nor was ever told anything about a contract. I also told Ms Hoover that my customers vehicle had already been in my shop for two weeks. We both agreed that I would send my driver to Houston the following morning and he would return the transmission and she would cut me a check. She assured me that there would be no problems. Upon arriving at ASAP my 70 year old father was greeted kindly and told to drive around to the back to unload the transmission. After doing so he returned to the office.

He asked for the check Ms Hoover had promised. He was then told there would be no check. He then asked for a receipt stating he dropped off the transmission. Ms Hoover then told my 70 year old father no receipt and that he would have to leave the property now! I called Ms Hoover after my father contacted me and she told me "you reap what you sow" I have done business with several salvage yards and never had a problem. I pride myself in running a honest business and have never had a complaint with the BBB or has any other type of business accused me of being dishonest. Can Ms Hoover say the same.
