Tried to purchase mortorcycle with promise to mail certified check

Kevin Preacher, kev1855@uymail.com, responded to an add I had on American Classified adds to purchase a motorcycle. He quickly arrived at a price and promised to mail a certified cashiers check and have a shipper contact me. He tried to make it sound legit by saying his shipper would be in the area picking up a horse also. He wanted the transaction completed before Christmas.
Fortunately I started becoming suspicious and when I did a search on his name and uymail address I came up with a similar usacomplaints.com scam report where he tried to purchase a boat from someone else and tried to get them to front money to the shipper.
Thanks to usacomplaints.com I did not fall for this as it is most likely a scam. Be careful when buyers talk of certified cashier's checks, use of shippers, and do not answer questions on their identity, phone numbers etc.
