Ripoff Total scam dishonest liars fraudulent business

I am a small time mechanic with 15 years experience.in all of my years I have never seen such a deal as this. I found a motor for a 2000 Toyota Camry for a customer and the customer purchased the engine. Being trusting people neither the customer nor I either one saw the signs of fraud, however that is exactly what it is. The engine that I received was old, but had been cleaned up and painted to look newer, which I noticed but did not connect to the concept of fraud. There were other signs such as heavy grease inside the timing cover, which is sealed fairly well and should not have been dirty on a 43K motor. After getting the engine in and getting it running it had a bottom end knock. Took me about half an hour to access that the engine was bad with a rod knocking, meaning the bearing was bad in a rod and that it is about to come apart and render the engine inoperable. I called the company and got the run around from the get go.

First I was asked a series of questions that insulted my intelligence as an experienced mechanic. Then I was told that I would have to pull the motor and send it back to them and let them access what is wrong and then they would send me another engine. I grew angry and demanded an engine immediately to which I was told one would go on the truck that day if I would sign a form they wanted to fax and to fax it back, which states "I have completely read and understand ASAP Motors warranty terms and guidelines and request ASAP Motors to credit my account according to these rules." By signing this I felt that I was giving up any rights to object to what they were doing and that it would cost my customer heavily, which it has. We paid $1500 for the engine and he has anther 800 in the installation for parts and labor. They later recanted and said they would not send another engine until they had this one back and I backed up at this point and refused to cooperate any further. We are pursuing legal action which includes disputing the credit card charges, legal action both civil and criminal and doing our best to inform the public. It is an outrage that this has went on for years and our government agencies are not doing anything to defend the people whom they are supposed to be serving and protecting!
