Holman Saturn Of English Creek
Saturn Holman, Saturn Of English Creek Non Disclosure-Did Not Mention that Speedometers are Set without Consumer Knowledge

Cars & Transport

I would like to know how is it possible that car manufactures can regulate or set speedometers?

I had purchased a 2004 Saturn Vue, 250 horsepower, with a max speed of 130 mph according to the speedometer. I was unable to drive beyond 100-105 mph one day. I doubled pressed the accelerator but to no avail I could not go beyond 100-105 mph.

I was so infuriated that I decided to call the Saturn dealer. I spoke with the Service dept. And asked them why is it that I am unable to accelerate beyond 100-105 mph. I was put on hold for a good 10-15 minutes when the representative returned explaining that the speedometers are SET at 105 mph and will not go faster than that.

How is this possible? How can they deceive the consumer? I shouldn't be regulated on how fast I should go? Is this legal/against the law? Is there anyone else out there that had this same problem? For those who own Saturns, call your local dealership and ask?

Please advise.
