Sent me to credit reporting agencies as 2 months past due! Ripoff

This company is a scam and fraud. I hated dealing with them every month. My fiance got a new loan on a car several years ago, and the rate was high, but we managed to pay it on time. Every month.
He then decided after maybe a year or 2 that he wanted a Jeep Grand Cherokee. He took the vehicle from Americredit and traded it in on a Jeep which was financed thru another cruddy company-ONYX. Next thing we know, we are getting letters saying we owe them and are 60 days past due. But how? When you trade in a car and all rights and the loan, it is not our responsibility anymore right? The leftover upside down payment was added to the Jeep.
I am fighting them right now to get this cleared off his credit report, and BTW, always pay cash for a car. Don't bother with these cruddy companies. We sure won't and haven't for the past almost 5 years. We pay cash and fix them and costs us a lot less headache and saves us anywhere from $250-$450 a month in car payments. Rather put that money into fixing a car.
